Valentines Day

In South Africa Valentines Day is celebrated on February 14 every year. The country is one of the most romantic destinations because of its geographical location. Thousands of tourists come here to celebrate the festival of love. Most commonly the couples go out for a romantic dinner at a special place. At some places girls still follow the old Roma festival of “Lupercalia”. According to the traditions the girls pin on their sleeves the name of the boy they love. Sometimes the boys do this too.

In India Valentines Day is a recent phenomen. Some people there think that it is a western holiday and do not want to celebrate it. But most young people love the beautiful and romantic festival because it is a time when they can express their affection for the people they love. In India as in other countries it is usual to exchange presents and cards.

Valentine’s Day is coming but you are still single.

It doesn’t mean that you can not enjoy yourself this day. Because you do not have a date with someone special, doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun or spent nice time with other people. You can find something interesting to do if you use your imagination. So do not look so glum. Learn to enjoy your independence. It is not necessary to give answers to stupid questions all the time as Where are you, Who is with you, What time will you be back?, Why? and etc. You can go where ever you want; you can do whatever you want.
