Valentines Day Poems
Valentine Soldier
“I sit here alone this Valentine season.
To catch myself wondering What is the real reason?
They say it’s for peace, order and harmony.
What about you, about us, and OUR family?
Without complaint your strength comes with ease.
So eager to serve, to protect and yet so many to please.
You call when you can, write with little spare time.
Back home your words although few, occupy my mind.
If a wish could be mine, on this Valentines Day.
To hear your voice, touch your hand, see your smile, far away.
For now I must wait my heart and soul never to stray.
We love you, We miss you, and Thank you, is all we can say.”

I Tried to Tell You
“I tried to tell you I love you
but the words were hard to find.
I’m always thinking about you
you’re the only one on my mind.
Oh why do I act so shy forever hiding my face
I should learn to laugh and not to cry put yourself in my place.”
Patrick W. Deck
There were times
“There were times I tried to kiss you but something told me no.
You wanted me to hold you but I
kept letting you go.
I’m afraid that I am not the guy
you’ve searched for all these years.
I will kindly leave now don’t you cry
try to hold back your tears.
It’s been so long I haven’t seen you
for quite awhile
When I think of how we me met it only
brings back your smile.
I remember when I held you then and
told you we’d never part
I loved you then I love you now and
I’ll hold you in my heart.”
Valentines day is all about love
“Valentines day is all about love,
giving and sharing but do not shove.
There are many gift that you may have to give,
but love is something that will always live.
So give your love on this special day,
go have some fun go, out and play.
Give your loved ones all of your time,
tell them you love them, it’s not a crime.
Valentines is just for today,
but give your love everyday.
Hurry up you don’t have much time,
give your loved one a Valentine! ”
A day with you
“A day with you
Has made me not care a clue
To see in your eyes
What matters me and you
To be with you
Is never to blue
Because a day with you is making a dream come true.”
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
“But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. ”
William Shakespeare
How Do I Love Thee
“How Do I Love Thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being an ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the Breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.”
Elizabeth Barret Browning
